Company officials announced today the 15th and Rangeline Walmart destroyed in the May 22 tornado is expected to reopen Nov. 18.
Since heat index values were devised for shady, light wind conditions, exposure to full sunshine can increase heat index values by up to 15 degrees. Also, strong winds, particularly with very hot, dry air, can be extremely hazardous.
The Midwest is used to hot summers with heat waves east of the Rockies, but, even so, it's still the number one weather-related killer in the United States.
According to the National Weather Service, highs for the next week will top out near 100 degrees in the Four-State area.
With temperatures in the high 90s, not to mention extreme heat index values, it's a good idea to watch for symptoms of heat related emergencies.
